I have read a staggering amount of research on the subject of autoimmune diseases, chronic illnesses, depression, anxiety, intestinal infections.

Along with watched videos on the subject and also attended seminars by alternative nutritionists.

I decided to take my health in my own hands after serious side effects and misdiagnoses from doctors.

I DON’T INTEND TO CURE ANYBODY I AM JUST SHARING MY EXPERIENCE

At 25 I was close to ending my life because of my condition…

But thankfully I had always had a thirst for knowledge and I always enjoyed reading scientific studies.

Now, 5 years later, I can tell you that I am close to a full recovery from my chronic depression, anxiety, social anxiety, autoimmune disease, Lyme disease and intestinal chronic infections.

So what happened in these 5 years?

Simple I took my health in my own hands and started to listen to my body and trust nature.

I contacted many alternative medicine health experts and I started to find the best cure for me.

I had acquired a lot of knowledge to know what they were advising me. 

Although, I never took any pill or any medicine without doing a background check on it, to make sure it’s safe and it has no side effects.

HOW MY DEPRESSION AND ANXIETY STARTED TO FADE AWAY NATURALLY

As my intestinal infections were decreasing and my guts started healing, I also noticed how I barely got depression or anxiety anymore.

Situations that in the past had caused me depression and anxiety now it doesn’t effect my mood.

Because I know I have the physical and emotional strength to solve any problem that comes my way.

The body uses depression to protect itself.

When you have an ongoing chronic disease the body is constantly weakened by it.

Therefore, the body signals to the mind to stop doing anything that is too exhausting.

That’s why you are in a bad mood, you are sad, you don’t want to go out much, you don’t even want to get out of bed.

Basically the body is telling you “I am ill I have to rest”

I think it is fascinating how the body defends itself. The problem is that we are not used to listening to every little signal our bodies give us on a daily basis.

HAVING A HEADACHE AT ANY POINT IN YOUR LIFE MEANS THAT SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH YOUR LIFESTYLE

In our society people are used to ending even their every days with a headache. But it’s not normal nor natural!

Any kind of headache is caused by high levels of stress.

This stress can be both physical or emotional.

The body handles them equally on a cellular level.

Our stress hormones (cortisol) are produced by the adrenal glands. Under a situation of prolonged stressed, the adrenal glands get tired and you end up with headaches or migraines depending on the amount of stress you suffered.

SO WHAT CAN HELP IN SITUATIONS OF DEPRESSION AND AXNIETY?

Start listening to your body what is asking from you. Start eating healthy and especially take care of your gut flora.

With every meal I eat lacto fermented vegetables, which contain the good bacteria for the gut. I also eat many prebiotics, in the forms of resistant starch. Like potatoes, sweet potatoes, tapioca and basmati rice.

I boil any of these foods in abbundant water until they soften and I put them in the fridge over night. The next day or morning I eat them cold. These starches when they enter the gut they feed the good bacteria.

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO HAVE A GOOD BALANCE OF HEALTHY BACTERIA IN THE GUT

80% of our immune system depends on the health of our guts, and mostly on the healthy balance of the good bacteria in it.

I primarily follow a gluten free, dairy free, sugar free, flour free diet, which I have developed my own personal diet by listening to my body and it’s reactions. I have studied many diets and made my own from these:

  • LOW FODMAP
  • PALEO DIET
  • GAPS
  • AUTOIMMUNE DIET

Of course as I started feeling better I reintroduced many foods. But I will never again in my life eat anything with gluten, dairy or sugar! Those foods are not for human consumption.
